As Chief Operating Officer of The Clearing, I lead business operations to enhance efficiency, drive strategic growth, and expand our market impact. I focus on ensuring operational excellence while positioning the company for sustained success.
Before joining The Clearing, I was President and Chief Executive Officer of Winrock International, overseeing strategic, programmatic, financial, and management operations for an organization with more than 1,000 employees in 40+ countries.
Prior to my time at Winrock International, I spent 20 years advising organizations on communications and strategy across the nonprofit, government, and commercial sectors. I worked closely with the MacArthur Foundation, managing its prestigious $15 million MacArthur Fellows Program—commonly known as the “Genius Grants.” My experience also includes partnerships with leading foundations and organizations such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the Pew Charitable Trusts, the National Children’s Medical Center, and international development initiatives in Iraq, Slovenia, and Qatar. I also serve on the Board of Concordia, a leading global convenor of leaders from government, the private sector, and the nonprofit world.
Born and raised in Alabama, I earned my undergraduate degree from Birmingham-Southern College, studied at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland as a Rotary Foundation International Scholar, and earned a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
