A day in the life of Wendy Guthrie

Senior Advisor

Time at the clearing:

0 years

In my role as Senior Advisor, I bring over 25 years of experience in strategic thinking, cross-functional problem solving, shepherding competing stakeholders toward a common vision, and risk identification and mitigation. Before coming to The Clearing, I championed the vision and strategic efforts to protect athletes from emotional, physical, and sexual misconduct and abuse as the Vice President of Athlete Safety at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee; I served in the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Senior Executive in Human Resources and a Special Advisor (Internal Consultant) in the National Security Branch; and spent 20 years as a senior administrator in intercollegiate athletics and higher education - 15 years on college campuses (Go Toreros!) and 5 years at the conference level. When I’m not working, you’ll find me as a fledgling, yet enthusiastic (mostly), CrossFit athlete and soaking up the fresh air and sun, but only if it’s warm out, as I’m a Southern CA at heart. Most importantly, I enjoy spending time with close friends and working to retain my ‘best auntie ever’ role. I hold an MBA in Entrepreneurial Management from the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, a MPE in Athletics Administration from Springfield College and a BA in Business Administration from Whittier College. I also hold an Advanced Personal and Executive Coach Certification from the College of Executive Coaching.
