Director and Solution Designer
Bringing people together and helping them find new ways of thinking is what I love to do — whether that is through my work at The Clearing or the poetry and fiction I compose during my free time. As a Solution Designer for our Strategy practice, I take pride in these “a-ha moments”, especially when we see our clients put those ideas into impactful action. I bring more than 14 years of experience designing lasting organizational strategies and business processes with an emphasis on alignment, communications, change management, culture, and leadership development. I help client teams develop human-centered solutions and build capacity for sustainable, high-quality delivery to meet business and mission outcomes. Prior to The Clearing, I was the Executive Director of a communications design firm serving art, academic, and cultural institutions. There I developed and implemented a strategy for growth, managed the growth and retention of staff and profitability, and guided the company through an organizational change from founding owners to a new ownership structure. When I am not working or writing, you will find me enjoying the company of friends and family over a meal, glass of wine, or hike. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Foreign Affairs from the University of Virginia and a Master of Science in Public Policy with a concentration in Organization Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University.
