Harmony. Positivity. Includer. Those are three of my top strengths, and they come through in the work that I do and the way that I live my life. The world often leads with negativity and provides reasons why things “can’t work.” I strive to do the opposite — to find and create moments in life that bring people joy, inspire them to find their passion, and provide the meaning they seek. I believe that humor connects people and offers a fresh perspective, and I’m on a mission to bring more light and laughter into the world. When tensions are high and consensus seems unattainable, I focus on creating alignment around common interests and goals. Whether it be in regional coalition-building, community engagement, workplace transformation, or culture change, my goal is always to help people find their voices and have those voices heard. The Clearing has provided me the opportunity to use my strengths on diverse projects such as cross-jurisdictional collaboration, city planning and urban development, headquarters relocations, and even public safety and emergency management. I love working alongside leaders at the local, state, and federal level to drive transformations of varying size and scale, including providing ways to develop strategies, manage all aspects of a change initiative, anticipate and mitigate risk, engage stakeholders, design and implement strategic communications, and outfit those impacted with tools and support throughout the lifecycle of the project. When I’m not working with clients and teams at The Clearing, you’ll find me planning my next vacation (even if it will be a while before taking it) or sharing a laugh with my husband and fellow parents as we shuffle our kids to and from sporting events and learn how to do this “homeschool thing.” I received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Virginia — go Wahoos!
