I am passionate about partnering with individual leaders and organizations to work towards solving their toughest challenges as well as building skills and leadership capacity along the way. Often, it’s helping them identify goals and balance risks in their decisions — a similar approach that I embody at home when I consider tackling a home improvement project on my own versus calling a professional. Over my 13 years of consulting, I have had the chance to work in the areas of business process management, emergency response, and strategic action planning to create more efficient, effective organizations, business functions, and people. The Clearing’s approach to partnering with our clients is unique in that our diverse team brings a vast set of skills, experience, and tools to each scenario, rather than a set-in-stone answer guide. I’ve used this approach to lead projects and teams for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), the Defense Security Service (DSS) and Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) within the Department of Defense, and several private sector companies and trade associations. Outside of work, I like spending time with my wife and two sons, enjoying the outdoors, traveling, and planning my next home improvement project — with a pro on standby. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan, and I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute. Additionally, I am certified in administering the EQ-i and EQ360 Emotional Intelligence assessments.
